Kipu ottoman by Lapalma has been a selected product for the Design Bar designed by Anderssen & Voll at the Stockholm Furniture Fair.
Made in cooperation with Frida Ronge, Culinary Director of the restaurants tak and UNN, the location was not only a perfect mix between a top class restaurant and an art exhibition, but also a stage for Stockholm Design & Architecture Talks.
For this project, the Norwegian duo, celebrating the 10th anniversary, was inspired by the Scandinavian “Atrium “ and by the typical paradigms of Japanese aesthetics. The result was a pine wooden structure that seemed to embrace a cosy courtyard.
“We wanted to create a peaceful oasis, a calm and silent place where to sit down and experience the surrounding environment” explain Espen Voll and Torbjørn Anderssen – “ For the design bar we have selected our entirely new proposals and some of the products we designed and love best”.
Among these, under the shadow of a tree, 15 KIPU ottomans welcomed the visitors of the fair, like comfortable colorful stones upholstered in fabric by Kvadrat.
Born form the idea of pebbles, the versatile seating system KIPU is peculiar for its almost severe triangular shape, softened by the choice of colours and fabrics, crossed by visible stitches which underline its contemporary and informal spirit.
An ottoman which can be a foot-rest or a seat, KIPU is a crossover product, available in several colours and materials, perfect in office, lounge areas, libraries as well as in a domestic environment: every place where comfortable and smart “islands” to sit on can be used. Like in the Design Bar of the Stockholm fair.
